Good Distribution Practices

The Good Distribution Practices audit assesses the fundamental programs required to manage food safety in a distribution centre. The requirements for a GDP audit are based on the specific food safety standards and practices used by distribution centres or storage/retrieval facilities. These audits are similar to GMPs however tailored to the unique requirements of distribution centres. A GDP audit is also a preliminary requirement for GFTC/AIB HACCP Accreditation of distribution centres.
It includes the following:
- Premises
- Storage and distribution
- Equipment and maintenance
- Transportation
- Training and management of personnel
- Sanitation and Pest Control
- Traceability and recall
