Free sustainability event with GFTC’s Cher Brethour
January 1, 0001
A little-known fact in agri-business is that entrepreneurs can use sustainability practices to benefit their businesses. It’s all about knowing how.
The “how” is what Cher Brethour, GFTC’s Director of Sustainability Services and a line-up of experts will address at the “Is your business ready for the green economy?” event hosted by FCC Financial Services. The free event will be held at the Delta Guelph Hotel and Conference Centre on February 11 from 7:30 to 11:30.
Ms. Brethour will begin the morning with a presentation. At the end of the morning, she’ll moderate a question and answer session based on the other speakers’ presentations.
Here is the list of speakers and the topics they’ll address:
• Robert Sandford, Canadian chair of the United Nations Water for Life -- Maintaining the flow: redefining agricultural sustainability in the context of water use
• Tim Haig, president and CEO, Biox Corporation -- Biomass: the future of energy
• Karen Haugen-Kozyra, president, KHK Consulting -- Positioning agriculture in the carbon markets of the future: how to take advantage of the early days
• John Paul, President of Transform Compost Systems -- Organic Waste Provides Opportunities for Healthy Food Production
